Abstract.
The aim of this research is to identify the role and influence of the Chita Institute of Public Education on the training of pedagogical personnel and the formation of a student community in Transbaikalia during the period of 1921-1923. The article presents an analysis of the history of the creation and development of the Chita Institute of Public Education in the early 1920s within the context of the socio-political and educational transformation of the Far Eastern Republic. The author investigates the reasons and circumstances that contributed to the establishment of the institute as a key center for training pedagogical personnel and disseminating higher education in the region. The novelty of this research lies in the introduction of new sources into scientific circulation, such as the Bulletin of the Ministry of Public Education, as well as archival documents from the State Archive of the Russian Federation and the State Archive of the Transbaikal Territory. These documents provide a fuller and more detailed understanding of the process of creating the institute. As a result of the research, the author of the article emphasizes the significance of the institute in shaping the educational and scientific environment of Transbaikalia, despite its temporary existence.
