Abstract.
The article examines the specific characteristics of the general historical chronotope of the Ancient World. It describes the Stone Age and Metal Age, comprising several stages of development, which constitute the prehistory of humanity. The non-synchronicity of phases of historical development in different regions is taken into account. The Primitive Era and the Era of Early Civilizations, with their inherent features, are considered. The territories of the Ancient World, the states that existed there, the peoples who inhabited them, as well as the characteristic features of the culture of these topoi are described in detail.
