Abstract.
The aim of the study is to identify the role of nostalgia as a mechanism that ensures the formation and maintenance of individual identity through the interaction of autobiographical memory with collective cultural narratives. The article shows that nostalgia not only serves as an emotional connection to the past, but also as a tool for reconfiguring personal experience within social and cultural codes. The theoretical approaches of researchers to the study of the interaction of personal and collective memory are considered, as well as examples of the formation of a nostalgic context around medial images, where cultural phenomena become intermediaries in the processes of comprehension and representation of biographical memory, turning it into a dynamic social construct. The novelty of the work lies in the emphasis on nostalgia as an active practice of an identifiable nature that allows the individual to integrate personal memories into the broader context of collective memory. As a result of the analysis, it was found that nostalgia acts not only as an emotional reaction to loss, but also as a productive tool for the formation of identity, which allows combining individual experiences and cultural scenarios, as well as maintaining personality stability in conditions of social and historical variability.
