Abstract.
The reviewed scholarly work, published by the reputable Russian publishing house “Nauka”, is dedicated to a systematic and structured overview of main artistic creations. The methodological approach to the research is universal art history with its central historico-conceptual method, which allows for the identification and analysis of semantic constructs that form the framework of the world artistic heritage. The book will be of interest to both professionals and a broad readership because it not only unites phenomena from different creative fields (literature, painting, theater, music, cinema, and others), but also, thanks to its original scientific approach, enables the formation of a holistic aesthetic picture in the reader’s mind. In this picture, different works are interrelated within a specific national and historical space, overcoming the linearity of thinking that voluntarily or involuntarily develops during the implementation of the classical educational process.
