Language ecology and neural-network simulacra of the Russian linguistic worldview: an ecophilosophical analysis

Abstract.
The purpose of this study is to identify and document markers of language simulation in neural-network-generated texts, demonstrating that, lacking its own being, artificial intelligence creates not language itself but a simulacrum of language that pollutes the ecosystem of meaning. The article examines language as an ecosystem of being under the conditions of the proliferation of generative neural networks. It proposes an ecophilosophical interpretation of the linguistic worldview as a complex, self-organizing environment of meaning-making. The phenomenon of neural-network-generated text is analyzed as a specific form of simulacrum arising at the intersection of collective linguistic memory, algorithmic statistics, and digital culture. Drawing on concepts from ecolinguistics, the philosophy of language, and simulacrum theory, the article examines how large language models reproduce, transform, and partially displace traditional structures of the Russian linguistic worldview. The scientific novelty of the work lies in applying an ecophilosophical approach to language as a living ecosystem of being rather than merely a system of signs. For the first time, neural-network-generated text (produced by large language models) is conceptualized not only as a linguistic or technological phenomenon, but also as a simulacrum that pollutes the noosphere. The findings demonstrate the dual nature of neural-network simulacra: on the one hand, they function as a mechanism for preserving cultural and linguistic heritage; on the other, they construct a hyperreality in which signs begin to circulate independently of the experience of lived being. A comparative analysis of texts by A. Platonov, I. Shmelev, and A. Chekhov and outputs generated by neural networks (ChatGPT and YandexGPT) shows that machine-generated texts, deprived of existential experience, constitute “semiotic pollutants” – simulacra that disrupt the ecological balance between sign and being.
