Abstract. The purpose of the article is to identify the value foundations of state information policy in foreign postclassical socio-philosophical theories. The article examines contemporary theoretical approaches to understanding state information policy in foreign social philosophy from the perspective of the value positioning of the individual, society, and the state within them. As the author notes, the positions of researchers from Antiquity to the metamodern era balance between the collectivist and individualist poles outlined by Plato and Aristotle. The scientific novelty of the study lies in examining current foreign theories and concepts within the framework of the philosophy of information and comparing them with postmodern views. As a result of the study, it was established that the initial premise of the information policy pursued by the state in the contemporary world is its drive for self-preservation, which determines the content of the metanarrative and the choice of appropriate methods for its implementation.
