Abstract.
The aim of the research is to identify and analyze the main, from the author's point of view, stages of the formation of Russian animation in the period from the 1990s to the present, their key characteristics and factors that influenced the development of this type of cinema in the selected time period. Particular attention is paid to stylistic and dramaturgical solutions, the interaction of traditions and innovations, as well as the prospects for the further development of the animation industry. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that, based on historical, cultural, and technological analysis, it is the first time that the main stages of the development of Russian animation in the post-Soviet period are identified and systematized. The study of Russian animation allows us to identify its significance as a cultural phenomenon that is able to reflect and interpret changes in the social and artistic environment. Its development testifies to the versatility and flexibility of this art form, which, despite economic and social challenges, continues to be an important medium for expressing national identity and cultural dialogue.
