Abstract.
The conversation is timed to coincide with the 115th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Russian musicologist, teacher, public figure, Candidate of Art History, Honored Art Worker of the Russian Federation, Professor Lev Lvovich Khristiansen, and is dedicated to key moments in his life’s journey, and his contribution to the theory and practice of folk musical creativity. The participants in the conversation were Alexander Ivanovich Demchenko, Doctor of Art History, Professor of the Saratov Conservatoire, Chief Researcher and Head of the International Center of Complex Artistic Research, Honored Art Worker of Russia; Elena Andreevna Sapogova, singer, storyteller, teacher, People’s Artist of Russia, Professor of the Saratov Conservatoire; and Irina Lvovna Egorova, Candidate of Art History, Professor of the Saratov Conservatoire, head of the folklore ensembles “Rodnik” and “Blagodat”. The conversation was led by Olga Anatolevna Shubina, Candidate of Art History, Associate Professor of the Department of Folk Singing and Ethnomusicology of the Saratov Conservatoire.
