Abstract.
In the article on the basis of newspaper headings some new tendencies of the practical activity of a translator, namely, of translating some versions of proper name are considered. These new tendencies become apparent in transferring English elements with their original spelling (Roman alphabet) in Russian translated texts. In the work the reasons of this phenomenon are revealed, the appropriateness of such approach to the translation under modern conditions is considered.
