THE PORTRAYAL OF RUSSIAN NATIONAL CHARACTER IN A. Y. YASHIN'S PROSE

Abstract. The article reveals the urgency of the problem of studying A. Yashin's heritage, who, being at the source of "rural prose", introduced his understanding of Russian national character in it. The writer tackles a great number of vital issues, both private and general, national, opening the world of his heroes. A. Yashin's works are not only the thought about modern village, but also about a Russian person in general, in all his complexity and beauty.
