Abstract.
Cognitive semantics is based on the position that the description of the structure of the plan of the contents of a language is impossible without the appeal to the mechanisms of thinking, knowledge and operating it. Cognitive semantics aspires to satisfactorily explain the processes of the categorization of the world, to describe the formation of the structures of knowledge and axiological systems, pictures of the world, to explain thinking processes and ways which result in the mentality of this or that nation, the behavioural reactions caused by a certain vision of the world.
