Abstract. Problems of heteronomination and motivational attributes of phytonyms and faunonyms of German and Russian languages in the aspect of intercultural communication are investigated in the article. Special attention is given to nominations, which motivational attributes have arisen on the basis of myths, legends and superstitions of representatives of different cultures.
