Abstract. In the article the complexity of the behaviour of the heroes of Dostoevsky is considered according to the axiologic aspect. The attention is concentrated on the ambiguity of "beauty" in which the properties of high-grade ideal as the value of supreme order are guessed. Nastasya Barashkova and prince Myshkin act as the carriers of beauty in the novel. Nastasya's beauty is based on the combination of pride and suffering. On the example of the central hero it is found out that for the effectiveness of this ideal reconciling influence of the third basis - humility - is essential. Without the participation of the elements of suffering pride can only turn around to be a life norm, suffering can only rise to the level of value, and only humility allows beauty to get the status of an ideal.
