TO THE PROBLEM OF THE VALIDITY LIMITS OF THE TERM: A LOOK AT THE PICTURE OF THE WORLD

Abstract.
In publications on linguistics, pedagogics and the wide problematics of intercultural communication the term picture of the world is used very frequently today and, in the opinion of the author of the article, not always successfully. The problem is that any term arises in the concrete sociohistorical context, and the "author" of the term may represent only one of the directions of the development of scientific thought. Even if the term which came into scientific use, seems to be successful for the description of the realities peculiar to one time and one place, the opportunity of its application to the realities of other time and other place needs to be proved. Automatism or apriority in the application of term can cause the deformed conception of the object being researched.
