Abstract. The article is devoted to the first attempts of Adyghe writing creation and the role of Baksansky enlightening centre in this process. Without taking into consideration the phenomena which are described by the scientist-folklorist Zaur Naloev in his researches the conceptions about the history of culture of Adyghe folk would be one-sided.
