Abstract.
The task of our research is the analysis of the novel Лъапсэ (Roots) from the point of view of the revelation of the theme of mother in it. The epical type of the development of the theme of mother is presented in Keshokov's creative works as the image of mother perceived objectively and in close connection with the theme of the native land. In the novel Лъапсэ the writer tries to comprehend the deep, complicated and contradictory processes in Adygeis' social life, the objective regularities of his people's past and present.
