Abstract.
In the article the peculiarities of the realization of the fantastic grotesque in the novel Dog's years are considered. Grass's grotesque is a composite artistic structure synthesizing the elements of farce, romantic and realistic grotesques. As for the character of the author's intention this is a play or satirical grotesque, as for the esthetical dominant - farce and tragical one.
