ABOUT SOME MORPHOLOGICAL CHANGES OF LATINISMS IN RUSSIAN SPEECH

Abstract. The author characterizes the morphological changes of Latinisms during the process of their borrowing by the Russian language, presents the fragment of her research of 500 units of the most frequent Latinisms and pays special attention to the differentiation of the basic changes in noun system: grammatical gender change while borrowing, the preservation of the Latin endings of oblique cases in compound words structure and the transformation of some word forms into a nominative case form during the borrowing process.
