Abstract.
The authors consider the representation of the linguistic picture of the world of an ethnos in the lexical foundations of anthroponyms (by the material of the Kazakh anthroponymicon), undertake an attempt to describe the structure of personal names onomastic meanings, the expansion of the image-bearing sphere of word perception in the light of mental world outlook, the process of the transition of an appellative into the category of anthroponyms accompanied by metaphorization and valuation attitude, which is determined by people’s worldview, and cover the linguo-cultural aspect of anthroponymy study.
