Abstract.
The author analyzes the reception of Russian foreign phenomena in A. I. Gertsen’s creative works: the public-social aspects of life and the religious-mythological beliefs of Volga region peoples in the memoir epopee “My Past and Thoughts”, shows social ethnography and poly-ethnicity as the characteristic peculiarities of the Russian reality, and determines foreign mythopoetical structures, which are created by the writer’s address to national consciousness archetypes .
