RABELAISIAN TRADITION IN “DROLL STORIES” BY H. DE BALZAC

Abstract. The author reveals the Rabelaisian tradition in “Droll Stories” by H. de Balzac, asserts that the work under consideration is the top of the predecessor worship of the writer of the XIX th century demonstrating the examples of words borrowings, expressions and images, stylistic imitation, the specific mention of Master Francois, and pays special attention to the reflection of the Rabelaisian tradition in the ideological component of the work.
