Abstract.
The author studies the discursiveness features of the English ode of the XVII
th-XIX
th centuries in terms of cognitive-pragmatic approach, considers the notion of discursiveness, reveals the main approaches to the formulation of the notions of composition and architectonics, and presents the results of the analysis of three groups of English odes of the XVII
th-XIX
th centuries, depending on the initial invariant: odes based on the invariant “Pindaric” composition, “Horacian” composition and “British” variant composition.
