Abstract.
The author reveals the basic functions of implicitness in a journalistic text, and also the most important ways of implicit meanings actualization, shows that implicitness in social and political journalism performs a sense formative function, ensuring the integrity and organicity of the text, and pays special attention to the analysis of textual complication figures – the markers of implicitness that draw reader’s attention to the hidden meanings and allow him to understand the implicit information stratum.
