Abstract.
The author considers the questions of translation practice and intercultural dialogue at the turn of the XIX th-XX th centuries, in the period of Russian modernism formation, which is characterized by increased interest in translation. Translated works allowed Russian readers to get acquainted with the creative works of the Western literary schools and to acquire the aesthetic principles of “new art”.
