Abstract.
The author reveals the content of the notion “intonation”, which is the smallest semantic unit of music language, basing on the pragmatic analysis of musical texts, particularly scores and claviers, defines musical art as an intonation-artistic activity that is not only the reflection, but also the expression of personality sense, reveals the peculiarities of the main strategies and tactics of the composer and performer’s speech behaviour, reflected in musical terminological notes, expressing the musical work modality, the composer’s musical expressive-speech style.
