Abstract.
The author considers the classical literary ballad features preserved at the modern stage and reveals the regularities, according to which their transformation occurs in the Kabardian-Circassian literature. The vivid tendency to ballad consciousness and ballad values interpretation allows speaking about the genre self-reflection.
