BASIC METHODS OF TERMS WORD-FORMATION INCLUDED IN TERMINOLOGICAL SYSTEM OF SUBJECT SPHERE “MOUNTAINEERING” (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE)

Abstract.
The author reveals the basic methods of terms word-formation in the subject sphere of mountaineering in the English language, considers the corpus in the amount of 1,260 lexical units, which are selected as both terms and professional jargons, presents the productive models of one-, two-, three- and four-component units formation of the studied terminology, pays special attention to the analysis of terms formation within the framework of a cognitive approach, and conducts the analysis of terms-metaphors, eponyms, borrowed terms, which are based on onomatopoeia, as well as terms-signals and terms-commands.
