Abstract.
The author discusses the features of agreement syntactic link in language, covers the basic conceptions and approaches to the problem of agreement, pays particular attention to the distinguishing between this term and the notion of agreement, considers grammatical agreement and semantic agreement, emphasizes the special role of animate collective nouns in the English language in the process of grammatical forms assimilation, reveals and describes the views on the determination of subject and predicate dominant role in the process of agreement.
