Abstract.
The author describes the attempt of categorical presentation of derivative indicative semantics of the Russian language, which is an important part of the grammar doctrine of prof. V. A. Bogoroditskii, substantiates the topicality of this attempt by the interest of modern linguistics to the problems of language categorization, analyzes and compares the derivative categories of verb and adjective determined by scientists; ascertains their general and specific properties, and considers the practice of categorical modeling as the origins of the theory of word-formative categorical nature.
