Abstract.
The article is devoted to the stylistically marked linguistic units as the basis of a linguo-poetic analysis. In a literary text these units can realize their potential in varying degrees, for which determination the category of linguo-poetic relative significance is introduced. The different types of marked linguistic units and their meaning are illustrated by the material of the story “Tobermory” by H. H. Munro.
