Abstract.
The present work is devoted to the contrastive-phonological analysis of the German language as the second foreign one against the background of the English language as the first foreign language. This research was carried out within the framework of phonetics and phonology of the English and German languages, with the purpose to reveal the differences in the phonological systems of these languages, using the data that were received during the teaching of the second-year students’ pilot group from Voronezh State University. The students and graduates of the University named after Martin-Luther (Halle, Germany) act as experts in the course of the analysis.
