EMPHATIC CONSTRUCTION «SER+QUE» IN STRUCTURE OF LINEAR SYNTACTIC CONTRASTS

Abstract.
The article reveals the essence of the notion “emphasis”, which is the supreme way for interpreting the objective designatum in an utterance. It expresses the absolutization of a certain meaning in the phenomenological aspect of an utterance. The attempt to classify the implicit and explicit emphatic constructions is made, and the features of the use and functioning of emphatic construction «ser+que» in the structure of linear syntactic contrasts in the Portuguese language are considered.
