Abstract.
The article considers the dialect-vernacular vocabulary as a marker of temporality in the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don” by Sholokhov. Attention is paid to the implementation of this universal category in the traditional picture of the world, as well as the ways of its expressing, the aspects and features of functioning. The features of temporality representation in the Don dialect are revealed as a result of the research of the different thematic groups of dialect lexemes and phraseological units with a temporal meaning.
