Abstract. The article considers various formation ways of politically correct vocabulary in English language. The question of the political subtext acquisition in word meanings is scrutinized by way of example. The article informs about the dependence of the subtext and word meanings of politically correct vocabulary. The problem of distinction between the politically correct vocabulary and euphemisms is touched upon.
