Abstract.
The article reveals the significance of the concept of mercy in M. Gorky’s creative works who implemented it in two independent aspects: as the Christian understanding of mercy as compassion and as effective assistance to those who are in need of mercy. The conceptualization of mercy in M. Gorky’s artistic system represents the vivid expression of concept word-nominee, caused by the special understanding of the notion.
