ORAL STORIES ABOUT HOUSE SPIRIT: PSYCHOLOGY OF CONTACT

Abstract. In the article modern bylichkas (stories about meeting with devildom) / byval'shchinas (true stories) about house spirit existing in people’s environment are considered. Their genre specificity is revealed, subject classification is suggested, style peculiarities are determined. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the man’s behaviour psychology in the situation of contact, “meeting” with house spirit. Archetype images are noted, which are people’s mythology source. Belief in vague, imperceptible matters is explained by the personality’s psychological protection mechanisms reviving.
