Abstract.
The notion “chronotope” was introduced into literature study by M. M. Bakhtin and found its reflection in modern native and western scientists’ works. But these researches practically don’t touch upon the problem of chronotope in the Byzantine hagiography. This article is devoted to the analysis of spatial-temporal relations in the early Byzantine hagiography by the material of “Dialogue with Theodore, the Roman Deacon, about Life of St. John Chrysostom, Archbishop of Constantinople” by Palladius of Helenopolis. The author comes to the conclusion that time and space of this work have historical and moral-ethic character.
