Abstract.
The article covers the issue of stability of communicative and expressive phraseological units that are presented as a separate functional field of phraseological expressives and communicatives. The conducted analysis of their structural and syntactic variability shows that these units have only relative stability, and in this connection the criterion of their functional fixation, frequency of use and common knowledge comes to the fore.
