Abstract.
In the article differences in symbolism literary-aesthetic theory, which is formed in the works of the Russian and Tatar poets, writers, critics, literary critics A. Belyi, Vyach. Ivanov, V. Bryusov, G. Sagdi and others, are determined. It is concluded that the Russian symbolists understand symbolism in different ways: it is the theory of spiritual world symbolic image in art, the way to this spiritual world, literary area and etc. In the Tatar social-literary thought symbolism problem doesn’t only get theoretical-methodological comprehension as it was in the Russian criticism of the beginning of the XX th century, but artistic-aesthetic and concrete-historical interpretation. G. Sagdi’s contribution to symbolism comprehension as a phenomenon of the Tatar historical-literary process of the beginning of the XX th century is defined.
