Abstract.
The article is dedicated to the analysis of proverbs and sayings presented in the works of one of the experts in the Mari oral poetical creation - Shabdar Osyp. The author characterizes folk colloquial speech full of aphorisms connected with the ideological conception of creations. In fictions proverbs and sayings appear as separate statements distinguished by semantic integrity and coherence. Nowadays this genre of folklore develops and enriches itself absorbing new features of these social-economical changes which occur in the life of society.
