AXIOLOGICAL CONCEPT “LABOUR” IN BOOK “WALDEN, OR LIFE IN THE WOODS” BY HENRY DAVID THOREAU

Abstract.
The article is devoted to the analysis of the concept LABOUR in the philosophical discourse of Henry Thoreau. The aim of this work is to show the representation and content of the key to the Puritan axiological system concept LABOUR in the philosophical discourse of Henry Thoreau by the material of the book “Walden, or Life in the Woods”. The heritage of the American writer and philosopher is studied from the point of view of cognitive linguistics. Such a method of studying allows revealing the features of H. Thoreau’s outlook and reconstructing a fragment of the worldview, actualized by the American philosophical discourse of the XIX th century.
