Abstract.
The article is dedicated to the typological analysis of telescopic derivations of the modern times in the English and French languages. The author pays special attention to the classification of modern telescopisms according to the method of word formation, performs comparative analysis of the prevailing methods of stem-composition in the system of investigated languages. The paper presents statistical data, concrete linguistic examples of the functioning of identified telescopisms, accentuates promising areas of further research in this sphere.
