ON STUDY OF PUNCTUATION SYSTEM IN THE TATAR LANGUAGE

Abstract.
The article summarizes the attempt of studying the punctuation system of the Tatar language, historically representing the regulated type of punctuation; reveals the main principles, functions of punctuation marks, general patterns and specific characteristics in the development of a punctuation system in the modern Tatar language. The conducted study suggests that although the grammatical, semantic and tonal principles act in unity in the punctuation system of the Tatar language, the guiding principle is still a grammatical (syntactic) one.
