Abstract.
In the article the complex comparative analysis of the literary-critical and philological interpretations of the genre features of F. Schiller’s ballads in the Russian and German philological traditions is made. Studying the features of F. Schiller’s ballads reception allows composing the full picture of F. Schiller’s ballads perception in Germany and Russia, revealing similar and opposite opinions about the moral agenda of F. Schiller’s ballads and the correlation essence of ballads plots in both national cultures.
