Abstract.
By the material of the novel "Siddhartha: An Indian Poem" by Hermann Hesse, the Swiss-German writer of the XX century, the results of personification study as an artistic-expressive means describing and expressing the concepts "Wisdom", "Love", "Joy" and "Soul" are presented. The specifics of their individually- author's perception by Hermann Hesse is detected. The individually-author's semantic accessions in the content of the given concepts are determined. The hight pragmatic potential of personification is revealed.
