Abstract.
The article is dedicated to the linguistic analysis of scientific argument in a critical text; the paper reveals the specifics of argumentation from the viewpoint of the personality of reviewer. Analyzing the reviews the author identifies the tactics of counter-argumentation and co-argumentation, which are characterized by a certain structure and a set of linguistic means. The special attention is paid to the realization of communicative intentions within the argumentative area of a critical text.
