Abstract.
The article investigates the art conception of the educator, founder of Ossetian fiction K. Khetagurov, appeared to be the representation of the advanced democratic tendencies in Ossetian national culture of the second half of the XIX century. The art was considered by K. Khetagurov as a focus of all ethical and aesthetic problems, as a social phenomenon which influences cardinally the whole process of social development. That’s why K. Khetagurov regarded the goals of art as practical implementation of real education.
