Abstract.
The article presents an analysis of the personages’ development from the viewpoint of their attitude to the time and also an ability or inability of the characters to change themselves and to travel through time as a basic method of their characterizing. The paper pays special attention to the analysis of linguistic means and identifies the nature of vocabulary with a temporal correlation. The author exemplifies her conception by the examples from the text of the novel.
