ONCE AGAIN ABOUT “THE SYMBOL OF FAITH” BY F. M. DOSTOYEVSKY (ON THE EASTERN CONTEXT OF A WORLD VISION FORMULA)

Abstract. The article represents itself an experience of interpreting “the Symbol of Faith” by F. M. Dostoyevsky in the eastern religious-philosophical and literary-aesthetic spirit. Methodological basis of micro-investigation is formed by contextual approach the task of which is to broaden the artistic parallels of the analyzed work, to include it into the wide circle of sources for more clear understanding of the mechanisms of imaginative reception. The suggested model of interpretation correlates with the famous statement of M. M. Bakhtin about the importance of involvement of distant cultural contexts in the process of understanding of a concrete phenomenon. Conception of “great time”, according to the author of the article, did not run its course. Therefore, there’s a necessity to reveal its rich in content potential taking into account not only western discourse but also eastern knowledge.
