Abstract.
The article examines the specifics of the perception of the units of Russian youth jargon by foreign students. In spite of the wide range of scientific papers devoted to the methodology of teaching Russian as a foreign language the problems of reasonability of teaching foreign students Russian jargon are relevant. The associative experiment identified the low level of perception of the investigated units by the foreigners and enabled to describe the reasons influencing the nature of perception of slang words.
